01 / Effects

Four materials, one object

Spaceship burning away with glowing edges.
Dissolve. Burns the object away along a glowing edge: noise, a bottom-to-top sweep or a front that spreads from the point you tap.
Mech turret drawn as a blue hologram with scan lines.
Hologram. Scan lines, a Fresnel rim, signal interference and chromatic aberration. A tap sends a wave of interference.
Sculpted torso inside a hexagonal energy shield.
Energy shield. A hexagonal force field around a dark core. Each tap sends a shock wave from the hit point.
Orange trefoil knot with cel shading and a hard highlight.
Stylized lighting. Cel shading with light bands, a hard highlight and a rim light. Tap the object to aim the light.

02 / How it works

Unity in the browser

The scene is built in Unity 6 with the Universal Render Pipeline and exported to WebGL 2. Each effect is its own HLSL shader, and the panel is made with UI Toolkit.

Every effect works on every shape: procedural meshes with seamless hexagonal UVs, and three of my own models: a mech turret, a spaceship and a biomechanical torso.

The demo only loads when you press the button, and it slows down when you scroll away from it.
